Now there’s something you can do when you see someone littering Macon-Bibb County. You can anonymously report littering by phone or email. The Litter Bug Hotline has been put in to place to give the community a fast and easy way to report someone littering. To report a Litter Bug all you ned to know is the car’s tag number and a description of the car, note the time and date of the incident and the location of the incident. If you can safely capture a picture, that would also be helpful.
You can report this information to pcarswell@kmbbc.org or by calling 478-330-7053.
When an incident is reported, the tag number is searched and a letter of the incident is then mailed to the owner of that tag number. After the third offense to the identified tag number, a fine is then sent to the address.
Since the introduction of the Litter Bug Hotline, we have an average of 2-3 incidents reported each month. Some of the letters received have inspired an apology or a positive acknowledgement. We need the word to get out and let the community know we mean business when it comes to keeping Macon-Bibb clean and litter free.
